FAQS

How do I car for my shutters?

Very little maintenance is required. For dusting, a soft brush works the best.  An attachment with your vaccuum cleaner also works well and can save you some time.  For cleaning, a damp cloth with mild soap works the best.  Try not to rub continuously on one area - you may rub the paint off.

Will I ever have to paint my shutters?

No.
The finish is designed to last virtually forever.  Other than normal touch-ups, you may get a little color fade over time (10+ years) but unfortunately this is normal due to extreme heat we have in Texas.  The paint industry has also greatly improved paint stability with the use of UV inhibitors.

Will the wood shutters hold up to the weather?

Yes.  Wood shutters have been around for centuries - long before the composite or synthetic materials were even developed.  Over time, manufacturers have learned how to build a wood shutter to withstand the various weather conditions.

Will shutters go with my decor?

There is a timeless elegance to plantation shutters that compliments any style or decor.  Simple choices like louver size, finish type and mounting can accommodate your needs and lifestyle.

What payment options are offered?

We accept cashiers check, money order, personal check and all major credit cards.  You pay for half (1/2) of total amount of the job up-front and the balance (1/2) upon completion.

How long does it take to produce and install my shutters?

On average, we can have a job installed within 6-8 weeks.  The actual build process takes an average of 4-6 weeks, paint or stain takes an additional week and the installation can normally be scheduled within a week.  NOTE: Some shutters can be installed as soon as 2-3 weeks- ask for details.

Will shutters help insulate against the heat?

Absolutely.  Insulation value is one of the main reasons for choosing plantation shutters.  No other louvered product closes tightly, holding both heat and cold at bay in the pocket of the window.

What are cafe style shutters?

Cafe style shutters cover only the bottom portion of a window.  Cafe shutters are great for privacy, leaving the top of the window open for natural light.

What does the "limited" warranty mean?

The "limited" section of most all manufacturers warranty is referring to the ownership of the product itself.  The manufacturers offer a warranty to the original buyer only - the warranty is non-transferable.
